The purpose of this training mission would be to training in the implementation of novel methods vertical particle fluxes from moving platforms (ships) and data processing of the results. IOPAS has experience with gradient, deposition (equilibrium) methods and eddy correlations. The visit would enable implementing dissipation techniques and especially the new COST STSM Application Form co-spectrum peak method used by Dr. Sørensen group.
This would also be a preparatory step for a joint Arctic cruise on R/V Oceania, the IOPAS ship next summer. This experimental effort, involving mltiple measurement techniques, could help improving at the same time both source function and deposition velocity parametrizations.
